ABS 1 mm is the starting choice for new projects
New projects default to 1 mm ABS; saved projects keep their previous edging choice. Choose thickness for the material, edge use and cutting service capabilities. ABS 0.5 and 2 mm remain supported, with 2 mm often selected for exposed fronts. Thickness alone does not guarantee water protection: bonding, machining and sealing matter.
Finished dimensions and cutting dimensions are different. Documents identify edging by edge and account for deductions. Send the format your cutting service requests and do not subtract banding twice. Lacquered MDF fronts do not receive edge banding.
For a quote, compare decor, band thickness and edged sides, rather than only total metres. New and older saved projects can legitimately have different banding choices.
